Ram Perumal and Bhargavi Gopaldas are launching Central Kitchen, a bakery and prepared food manufacturer in Sterling, Virginia. Central Kitchen specializes in producing Latino breads, desserts, prepared foods to restaurants, food trucks, and retailers across Northern Virginia.

 

The project includes a 2,000 -square-foot facility with renovations, foodservice equipment, working capital for start-up expenses and the ramp-up to cashflow breakeven. The 25 year 7a loan has been approved by a Regional Bank and is expected to close in Q1 2026.

Donna McKelvey acquired Le Village Marche, a French-inspired home décor and gifts boutique in Shirlington, VA in 2025. Donna had recently retired from a long and successful career as a senior leader with various non-profits.

 

After two years of retirement, Donna took a part-time job with Le Village Marche and discovered it was the perfect opportunity for a career Chapter Two. The seller wanted to retire and Donna was the obvious buyer.

Patricia Herford, Doctor of Physical Therapy and certified concussion specialist, started up "The Connected Mind", a neurofeedback and brain wellness clinic located in Bowie, MD.


The business required SBA funding for leasehold improvements, IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback equipment, start-up working capital, and sufficient ramp-up working capital to build a new patient base. With funding secured from a Regional Bank, The Connected Mind opened in May 2025.

The business will serve consumers, fleet accounts, and small businesses, offering services from diagnostics to complex repairs. The property will be leased and the SBA loan will fund start-up expenses and working capital. The SBA loan was approved by a regional SBA Lender and Business will be open for business in the Fall of 2025.
